Steel City Radon is a family owned and operated business in the tri-state area.  When a call comes into our office it is handled by us, the owners. We do not outsource any of our work. We  are the one giving the estimate and doing the work. This allows a one on one approach which gives the customer a better level of confidence by knowing the person they talked to on the phone, is the one showing up at their home to do the work. The owner, Michael Nowicki, is certified through the Pennsylvania DEP and is the one doing the work. Since 1985, he has  been involved with residential construction and masonary work. I  have been in the radon business since 1999  and have done over a thousand radon remediation systems.   When a radon system is installed, it becomes a permanent fixture in your home, so  you want to hire someone with a good background in construction. Every home is different, so we design the system for your homes needs. We do not hire subcontractors or have any employees that come out to do the work, we  take care of every system ourselves.

We have no subcontractors, we take care of all the work ourselves.  This way we are able to keep our prices low.  When you call and ask for an estimate, you are talking to the owners on the phone. The information is first hand, this way when we come to your home, we are the ones you have discussed the job with. A lot of companies are out of state with toll free numbers, or numbers that have call -forwarding that  out source the jobs to a different states.  They are subcontracting the work to people with little or no experience in the industry. They then combine the years of experience and the jobs that they all do to make it look like they have done a tremendous amount of jobs. Other companies sit in the office and talk to you on the phone and give you estimates. They are extremely knowledgable explaining everything to you in detail and you think they are doing the work but they send out their employees who you have never seen or spoken to. Our prices start at $695.00 which includes installation, testing and a lifetime warranty on the radon system.  About 98% of our systems are done at this price. At this price, it is affordable to install a radon system to get  rid of unhealthy radon levels and have a high quality, quiet, maintainence-free, and guaranteed radon remediation system. There are no hidden fees or extra charges to use downspout on the exterior of the home. These are our fees for a normal installations. 

We guarantee to bring levels below 4.0pci/L and most systems come in below 2.0pci/L.  After we do a short-term test on the radon system to make sure it is working . All of our tests are sent to an independent lab to recieve the results.We then  reccomend to all of our clients to do an alpha-trac test.  This test remains in your home for a year which gives us a better average of your radon levels.  Plus, this test is completely free.
